A Korean Hairdresser Has Changed my Life

By David

You haven’t really lived life if you’ve never been to a Korean hairdresser. If you’re Asian Australian, then you’ve probably had your hair done in a Korean hairdresser several times over.
Alvin and I caught up the other day and had our haircuts in a place called “Colour Rain,” in Sunnybank. Here are some photos:

Like a lot of Korean hairdressers I’ve seen in Brisbane, this was the process: they sat us down and showed us a magazine full of photos of (maybe) Korean guys with stylish haircuts. They then asked us to choose the corresponding style we wanted. They then cut our hair. They then asked us if we wanted to put wax on our hair, which in this case was Gatsby.

In the background was a large flat screen television playing a pop singer's music DVD. I think one of the videos they played was this one, by BoA.
