Our first post, episode 2: the procrastinating menace

by Alvin

It didn't help that I discovered "Syndicate Wars" on PS3 shop last weekend; buying it the night after - it was under $10!!!

So what if whatever 'scribbles' I have left to do are put on hold. The travesty lies in that even my exalted "Batman: Arkham Asylum" has to share its precious "with you time" with a grand daddy of the pixelated past, but in all honesty the SUPER travesty of it all is that I'm okay with that.

You have to understand, since me and my brothers first rented & played Syndicate Wars in the bygone days of '$20 buying you a whole day of contentment - where Timezone arcades where KING!', till the day our local video store mysteriously "lost it". I was captivated by its cyberpunk, dystopian setting & plethora of upgrades, weapons (I'm a sucker for upgradeable characters & items, items! ITEMS!) and extra gameplay delights (blowing up a bank to get some extra cash - of course! Logical!)

Since then we've been trying to find it in every overpriced but glitzy computer game specialist, every dishevelled electronics aile at every department store, and thouroughly searching the far, far reaches of that sweet, sweet, buxom busom of a street performer called "The Internet"... to no avail (okay so I could've found it there without a doubt, but back then I was a wuss in downloading stuff - couldn't tell which end of a torrent was 'up' or 'down').

So finding it now after many years of playing the "next gens" that came after it was a big deal, just look at it:

*okay so that's the PC version, same difference.

And that Dave is why I haven't got the blog's banner ready yet... but at least I got our profile pic up :D ...

pssst! you're the Jerry on the left.
